China has added another incident of discrimination to its long list of atrocities against the Uyghur minority in East Turkestan, which has led to the region being deemed as a “police state.”
Police in Eastern Turkistan cut the dresses of Muslim Uyghur women in the middle of the street with the justification that their frocks were “too long,” according to the Documenting Oppression Against Muslims (DOAM) organization.
China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region -- home to many ethnic minority groups, including Uyghur Turks -- is predominantly known as East Turkestan in Turkey. Uyghurs are a Turkic ethnic minority who live in East and Central Asia.
