The Kuwait Towers donned the colors of the Turkish flag on Monday night, in honor of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to the Gulf country.
The Kuwaiti landmarks, which are located on the waterfront in the Arab Gulf square in the capital Kuwait, were lit in the red and white colors of the Turkish flag.
Head of the Kuwaiti- Turkish Society Nesim Ömeroğlu described Erdoğan’s visit to Kuwait as “blessed,” noting that the atmosphere in the Kuwaiti capital on the eve of the visit as “extraordinarily magnificent.”
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Kuwait on Tuesday to discuss regional and international developments as well as bilateral relations between Turkey and the Gulf countries.
Erdoğan was welcomed by Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah.
He was accompanied by a large delegation including Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar, Justice Minister Abdülhamit Gül, Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi and Energy Minister Berat Albayrak.
Following President Erdoğan’s trip to Kuwait, he will visit Qatar to discuss the gulf crisis.
