Country can host up to 50 people for a year to facilitate safe return of migrants to their country of origin, says press office
Kosovo on Wednesday announced that it will temporarily host migrants deported from the US.
In a statement, the government's press office said Kosovo could cooperate with the US for the acceptance and temporary settlement of third-country nationals under certain conditions.
It said the country could host up to 50 people for a year to facilitate the safe return of migrants to their country of origin.
"The government ... is ready to participate in this process, with the possibility of selecting individuals from a proposed list who meet certain criteria regarding the rule of law and public order," the statement emphasized, adding that the US continues to be Kosovo's unwavering ally.
