Greek court says it is also holding two coupist soldiers, who fled Turkey during July 15 coup bid; bringing the total of coupists not extradited to Turkey to five
A Greek court on Thursday rejected Turkey's extradition request for the remaining 2 soldiers linked to the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) which was responsible for the July 15 coup bid that targeted the Turkish government. The two soldiers were among eight soldiers who fled Turkey during the coup bid.
On Tuesday, Greece announced its ruling that it would extradite three of the eight FETÖ-linked Turkish soldiers, who escaped to Greece during the July 15 coup attempt.
However, previously, the Greek court also rejected Turkey's extradition request for three of the eight soldiers.
A Sikorsky Black Hawk helicopter, which was carrying the eight Turkish officers, landed at a site near Alexandropoulos province of Greece just after the foiled coup attempt.
The soldiers, who were embedded into the FETÖ terrorist organization, fled the country over the coup attempt which killed around 250 people.
