The Qafqaz University (Caucasus University), known to be owned by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) which attempted the coup in Turkey, has been closed. The decision was published in the Official Gazette of Azerbaijan.
The students of Qafqaz University need ministry support to be guided in switching to another university.
Qafqaz University, established in 1993, was known to be the first FETÖ university abroad.
Turkey is fighting against the terrorist organization by conducting operations across the country and coordinating with governments to halt the terrorist activities.
Turkish officials repeatedly warned countries of the threat of the FETÖ formation in many countries, which may trigger possible coup bids there, similar to the recent coup attempt in Turkey.
The FETÖ is known to have 24 schools across Pakistan; six of them in Islamabad, five of them in Lahore, three of them in Karachi, three in Quetta, two in Peshawar, two in Multan, and one each in Haripur, Hyderabad and Amshoro.
Another country in which FETÖ has the largest number of schools is Kyrgyzstan; the terrorist organization is known to maintain 23 schools.
