Turks living in Europe are attending and organizing demonstrations to denounce Europe's harboring of terrorists and support democracy in Turkey

Prompted by harsh and unfair criticism against Turkey, Turkish nongovernmental organizations operating in Europe have decided to come together in meetings on Saturday, with the ''No Terror, But Democracy'' motto in Germany, Belgium and Holland to show strong solidarity with Turkey in its fight against terror organizations.

Among those associations which will take part in the demonstration in Belgium are the European Turkish-Islamic Union (ATİB), IHH Foundation Belgium, Union of Turkish Associations (UTV), Semerşah Foundation, Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD), Diyanet Foundation, International Turkish Businessmen Association, National Vision Movement, Hayrat Foundation, Center for Family Consultation Belgium (FAMIS), Emirdağlılar Foundation Belgium and Trabzonlular Association Belgium.

The meeting is going to be held on La Loi Street near the EU buildings.

'We need such a meeting'

Mustafa Akgün, the general secretary of International Turkish Businessmen Association, said, ''Turks in Europe are angry over the European authorities' harsh criticism which is not based on facts and truths and their support for and harboring terror. For that reason, we really need such a meeting, such a reaction.'' He stated that their members are going to take part in it by both sponsoring and participating.

'We want to answer them'

''The smear campaign is highly malevolent and it is conducted by some specific centers in a very professional way,'' Tekin Deniz, the president of FAMIS, said while remarking on an ongoing smear campaign against Turkey. ''Besides, all terror organizations targeting Turkey, such as PKK, Daesh and FETÖ, are aiming at slowing Turkey down and doing the best they can to do that. In this sense, we want to take a firm stance to answer their attacks and we are going to take part in the demonstration together with other nongovernmental organizations,'' he added.

'We want to see everyone who love the country and the nation'

Mustafa Çörekçioğlu, the representative of Semerşah Foundation to Belgium, said,''We want to see everyone who love the country and the nation,'' emphasizing that they are going to participate in the meeting so as to support their people and state.'

Meanwhile, Ruhi Açıkgöz, the representative of AK Party to Brussels said those who bond with Turkey at heart have felt the need to come together and they have regarded it as a very important activity. He also added that even though they, as AK Party's Brussels representative, did not contribute to organizing it, they will participate in the meeting on Saturday.

Açıkgöz lastly said that there is a great reaction in Turkey against Europe where terror groups have a free hand in their activities.
