Four people were killed and eight others injured in a cluster bomb attack Sunday in war-battered Aleppo city in northern Syria.
A regime warplane struck the opposition-held al-Shear district in eastern Aleppo, pro-opposition civil defense official Abdullah Nualu told Anadolu Agency.
He said the strike had left a vast trail of destruction in the targeted area.
Scores of civilians have been killed and hundreds injured in relentless attacks by regime and Russian warplanes on Aleppo in recent days.
Syria has been locked in a devastating civil war since early 2011, when the Bashar al-Assad regime cracked down on pro-democracy protests – which erupted as part of the "Arab Spring" uprisings – with unexpected ferocity.
Since then, hundreds of thousands of people are believed to have been killed and millions more displaced by the conflict.
