China's foreign ministry on Friday urged the United States to view correctly its establishment of diplomatic relations with El Salvador, after the White House criticised the move.
Ministry spokesman Lu Kang made the comment at a daily news briefing in Beijing.
El Salvador this week ended what had been long-standing ties with Taiwan in favour of China.
