FSA colonel says the construction of a central base in Ayn Issa to be used by the ‘Arab Forces,’ funded by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, is underway, and that the project ‘is just a cover for the PKK’

The reign of terror the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which entered Manbij under U.S. protection, is coming to an end. In a meeting between Turkish and U.S. delegations, Washington accepted to withdraw the PKK/YPG terror group from Manbij.

However, the U.S. imposed the conditions of placing a neutral military force in the region and banning the Free Syrian Army (FSA) from Manbij. Ankara wants the PKK to withdraw from Manbij, Tell Abayd and all areas it occupies so the lands can be returned to their true owners.

“The Trump administration, which uses Manbij as a border on the terror map, is moving into the application stage and within the scope of this, almost all Assad forces in al-Hasakah have been evacuated. We are face to face with the danger of all settlements east of Manbij being delivered to the PKK in the new period,” said FSA Colonel İbrahim Mecbur.

Joint plan being implemented

“The military area belonging to the 17th Division, one of the most important military units of the Assad regime, was allocated to the so-called border guard units to be formed by foreign fighters. The PKK’s connection to the Damascus administration continues. Assad centralized all the troops who served in the al-Hasakah region for six years. Except for around 300 police officers who are just symbolic, there is no military presence in al-Hasakah. There is a plan that brings together both the Assad regime and the U.S. in the common interest of the PKK, and this plan is being implemented,” Mecbur said.

Locals are revolting

“The people of Raqqa, al-Hasakah and Aleppo are all fed up with the PKK's occupation and the pressure of terrorism. People in Raqqa, al-Hasakah and Manbij staged numerous demonstrations. The PKK’s persecution has been boycotted many times by shop owners. During the week we spent in Raqqa, there were conflicts between the PKK and locals. In the al-Hasakah-Tel Birerek region, the people clashed with militants who wanted to force their children to go to terrorist camps. In Tell Abyad, Ayn Issa, Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa and Manbij, dozens of attacks targeting the terrorist organization’s headquarters were organized,” he added.

United in Idlib

"After Turkey constructed 12 bases, opposition groups, including the forces under my command, united under one roof. A total of 11 groups united with the name “The National Liberation Front.”

Our priority is to protect our region from external attacks and we will take part in the struggle with Turkey against every enemy,” Mecbur said.

Saudi Arabia in talks with YPG/PKK to form new force

Saudi Arabia is in talks with SDF, a Syrian offshoot of the YPG/PKK terror group, to form a coalition with Arab forces. Last Friday, three Saudi military consultants went to Ayn al-Arab district's Harab Isk village to hold meetings with YPG/PKK terrorists.

Military consultants were in the village to form an Arab force with the Sanadid Forces, who fight for YPG/PKK terrorist group under the name of SDF. Saudi officials have set up communication checkpoints in al-Hasakah and Qamishli to recruit fighters and are promising $200 to every fighter who joins the improvised force.

Saudi Arabia and UAE construct base in Ayn Issa

Mecbur said the construction of a central base in Ayn Issa to be used by the “Arab Forces” funded by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was underway.

“This new structure is just a cover for the PKK. However, this collective army project has no chance of success and the resistance against all the pressure will continue until Syria returns to its natural state. They want to build an army of 50,000 with paid militants from countries such as Syria, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Tunis and Jordan. The first formation to be established under the name of 'Border Guard Units' will consist of a group of 2,000 militias and will be led by Ahmad Jarba. Then the ‘international forces’ dimension of the project will be implemented,” Mecbur said.
