Industrialists will receive experiential training, consultancy services in new centers, Turkey’s technology minister says

Digital transformation centers will be opened for industrialists in November, Turkey’s technology and industry minister said on Tuesday.

The industrialists will receive experimental training and consultancy services at these centers, Mustafa Varank said during his speech at Digital Transformation Days in Industry held by the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD) in Istanbul.

Varank said the new “model factories” will be opened in the capital Ankara and northwestern province of Bursa in November.

Varank reiterated Turkey's aim to become one of the top 10 economies of the world by 2023, and emphasized that the country needs a paradigm shift in order to achieve it.

"This change will come by production," Varank said.

He stressed that it is possible to achieve high and sustainable growth rates through policies that will increase the competitiveness and structural transformation in production.

"The Turkish industry's digital transformation is one of the policies that serve this purpose," he added.

Varank also said that rather than copying countries' road maps, such as Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0, Turkey would follow its own.

"We aim to develop high value-added areas and their subcomponents indigenously and individually," he said.

Varank added that developing indigenous solutions in cloud technologies will be one of priorities of the ministry to provide digital transformation in infrastructure.
