Brazilian 29-year-old chased by many clubs including Besiktas JK
Interest in Atletico Madrid's Brazilian playmaker Diego Ribas da Cunha's future services have mounted, as Turkish giant Besiktas is among the many clubs chasing the 29-year-old.
Turkish media reports said on Wednesday that Diego was in transfer negotiations with some of their chasers as he could not agree on a new deal with Atletico Madrid due to the Spanish club's 'reluctance.'
Spanish sports newspaper El Mundo Deportivo said among the clubs interested in Diego other than Besiktas were Southampton and Arsenal from England and Santos from Brazil.
Brazilian media sources said Santos was one step closer to signing Diego, as his father last week confirmed that the 29-year-old star could be heading back to Brazil.
Diego began his career in Santos before moving to Porto, Juventus, Werder Bremen, Wolfsburg and Atletico Madrid. He starred in 2012 UEFA Europa League final by scoring one goal and making an assist for Atletico.
