Liverpool soccer star Mohamed Salah always performs wudu, the Islamic ritual ablution, along with fellow teammates Emre Can and Stadio Mane before crucial matches, according to the club manager Jorgen Klopp.
Speaking to Channel 4 News, the German club manager said it has become a “ritual” for the team’s three Muslim stars before matches, stressing that it was very beneficial for the players.
Klopp said the rest of the team wait for them and respect the time they need to perform ablution.
When asked about what he thought about Liverpool fans saying they would convert to Islam thanks to Salah’s stellar performance with the club, Klopp said: “It’s awesome. It’s exactly what we need at these times.”
