Manager leaves club by mutual agreement after winning league last season
Turkish football club Galatasaray announced the termination of manager Hamza Hamzaoglu's contract late Wednesday.
In a statement on the club website, Galatasaray said Hamzaoglu's employment was ended by mutual agreement.
“The executive board conveyed to me the decision not to continue with me and I respect it," Hamzaoglu told Anadolu Agency.
Club Secretary General Fatih Isbecer confirmed the end of Hamzaoglu's contract but declined to give further details.
Hamzaoglu was appointed on Dec. 1 last year and won the league title, the Turkish Cup and the Turkish Super Cup last season.
Galatasary currently sit third in the Super Lig, five points behind leaders Besiktas.
