At least 11 people were injured in an overnight Russian drone attack on Ukraine's capital Kyiv, Ukrainian authorities said Sunday.
“According to available information, 11 people were injured to varying degrees. Among them are two children,” the Kyiv City Military Administration said in a statement on Telegram.
The air raid alert in the capital lasted just over an hour, between 12.20 am and 1.21 am local time (2120GMT-2221GMT), the statement said.
Debris from downed drones ignited a fire on the upper floors of a high-rise building in the city's Obolonskyi district and damaged a nearby kindergarten, officials said.
A fire was also reported in a non-residential area in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district, the statement noted, adding that fires also erupted in three homes in the Sviatoshynskyi district, while all fires have since been extinguished.

On April 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a three-day unilateral ceasefire starting on May 8 and running until May 11. The dates coincide with Moscow marking the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II on May 9. Zelenskyy has referred to the proposal as a "manipulation."
Zelenskyy said Russia had launched more than 1,180 attack drones, 1,360 guided aerial bombs, and 10 missiles of various types against Ukraine in the past week. He reiterated that Ukraine remains open to a ceasefire — but one that would last at least a month.
“If there's silence, it must be every day. If there's a ceasefire — then not for their holidays, but for every day,” he said. “I thank all our partners who continue to support Ukraine and put pressure on Russia.”
Separately, Ukraine's Air Force claimed on Telegram that its air defenses shot down 69 out of 165 drones launched by Russia overnight.
Russian authorities have not yet commented on the attack.
