Anti-drone system by Turkish firm Baygalata able to detect 500 drones at 3-mile radius and destroy them
Turkish defense contractor Baygalata International developed an anti-drone system, named TUZOQ, as a countermeasure against rising drone threats, as commercially available drones can be easily modified with explosives and warheads, risking security.
The TUZOQ system was developed with the four D's in mind — detect, define, deter, and destroy.
The anti-drone system is capable of detecting and defining 500 drones at the same time in a 5-kilometer (around 3 miles) radius thanks to its software, radar, electro-optical camera, radio frequency sensor, jammer, spoofer, microwave emitters, and different destruction options.
Baygalata calls it “the most comprehensively integrated solution in the world” among anti-drone systems.
The anti-drone system was created as drones have become indispensable weapons of close combat, especially in the Russia-Ukraine war, and the system's design was made by combining other systems with different missions and capabilities with software developed from the ground up for TUZOQ.
The development of the TUZOQ began in February last year.
Istanbul-based Baygalata produces unique solutions in cooperation with large-scale Turkish manufacturers in design, modeling, integration, and software infrastructure, and the firm aims to bring the Turkish defense industry products to unexplored markets.
The firm operates in anti-drone systems, border security, helicopter modernization, and more.
It also aims to develop solutions to protect airports, nuclear power plants, and other critical buildings, in addition to military solutions.
Baygalata's main brands are the TUZOQ, TUWEK, BayGun, and BayAmmo, and additionally, the firm developed two different unique weapons and received approvals for its international patents.
The firm aims to increase its international sales and marketing activities as a response to the increasing need for anti-drone systems and it is planning to install a total of 50 for TUZOQ in the coming two years, at least 12 of which are planned to be multi-layered integrated systems.
The TUZOQ Anti-Drone System was exported to Bangladesh and Baygalata received two new orders from Africa.
