Türkiye's boxer Havvanur Kethuda won gold at the Youth World Championship, while several other Turkish athletes also showed their mettle in Budva, Montenegro.
Kethuda defeated Shakhobiddinova Sobirakhon of Uzbekistan to win the gold medal in the championships' 81+ kg final, the Turkish Boxing Federation said in a statement released late Sunday after the conclusion of the 12-day sports event, which began on Oct. 23.
Alperen Yilmaz won the bronze medal in the men's category at 71 kg, the federation said.
In the women's category, Pinar Benek in the 57 kg category and Oncagul Yilmaz in the 70 kg category won silver medals, while Dilara Sak in the 75 kg and Sudenur Aslan in the 81 kg won bronze medals, according to the statement.
