Numan Kurtulmus also meets with speaker of National Assembly of Ivory Coast
Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus on Sunday met with United Arab Emirates (UAE) Federal National Council Speaker Saqr Ghobash.
The meeting came on the sidelines of the 149th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Geneva.
Kurtulmus said that the main agenda of his last meeting with Ghobash was the Palestine issue and in today's meeting the focus remains on addressing the problems of the Palestinian people, stopping the genocide, providing urgent aid, ensuring a cease-fire and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
He said they would not forget Ghobash's participation in the large Palestine rally held in Istanbul, emphasizing the need for joint steps with the UAE to ensure peace in the region.
He also invited Ghobash to visit Türkiye.
Meanwhile, Kurtulmus met with Adama Bictogo, the speaker of the National Assembly of Ivory Coast.
He said that since his last meeting with Bictogo in Abidjan, the situation in Palestine and the region has worsened.
Kurtulmus said that over 50,000 Palestinians have been martyred in Israeli attacks, adding that “(Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and his gang" are moving to spread the war to Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.
Emphasizing that Israel's actions have become a global problem, he warned that if "Netanyahu and his gang" are not stopped, no oppressive power in the world can be stopped.
He underlined the need for closer cooperation among Muslim countries in this regard.
Highlighting the strong and developing relations between Türkiye and the Ivory Coast, Kurtulmus said that despite the geographical distance, the brotherhood between the Turkish and Ivorian peoples remains strong.
