Terrorists ‘neutralized’ in Operation Claw-Lock area, says Turkish National Defense Ministry
The Turkish military “neutralized” six PKK terrorists in northern Iraq near the border with Türkiye, the National Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
The ministry said in a statement on X that operations against the PKK terror group continue effectively and resolutely.
“Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces have neutralized six PKK terrorists in the Operation Claw-Lock area in northern Iraq.
“We will continue to destroy terrorist hideouts with the motto ‘Wherever there’s a terrorist, that’s our target’,” it added.
Türkiye launched Operation Claw-Lock in 2022 to target the PKK terror organization’s hideouts in northern Iraq’s Metina, Zap, and Avasin-Basyan regions near the Turkish border.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
