Terrorist in custody gave away key information that helped in operation

A PKK terrorist cell in Syria's northwestern city of Jarablus was dismantled by Turkish forces who acted upon information received during an interrogation.

A Syrian national, identified by the initials B.H.F., was nabbed by Turkish forces and interrogated.

He gave away key information about the terror group and the location of a tractor loaded with 150 kilograms (330.6 pounds) of plastic explosives.

The terrorist in custody also confessed to participating in many terror attacks in the Turkey-backed Syrian National Army controlled areas, which resulted in numerous fatalities among Turkish forces.

He also gave away terror attack plots by PKK/YPG in the coming days.

Important information was obtained about a supply chain of explosives that the terror group maintains.

Since 2016, Turkey has launched a trio of successful anti-terror operations in northern Syria to prevent the formation of a terror corridor and to enable the peaceful settlement of residents.

Terrorist groups, particularly the YPG/PKK, often try to infiltrate and mount attacks in these areas to disturb the peace and stability restored by Turkey.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU – has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is the PKK’s Syrian offshoot.
