Harran University will provide trilingual education in 6 departments in Al-Bab city
Turkey's Harran University in southeastern Şanlıurfa will establish a faculty in Syria's northwestern Al-Bab city which will provide trilingual education in Turkish, Arabic and English, the university's rector told Anadolu Agency.
Al-Bab city is located inside Turkey's Operation Euphrates Shield area.
Students from Euphrates Shield and Operation Olive Branch areas will benefit from the faculty.
Professor Ramazan Taşaltın said the new session will start next month.
He said six departments will be opened in the first phase and trilingual education in Turkish, Arabic and English will be provided.
Taşaltın said the first two years of university education will be provided in Al-Bab and the remaining two years will be completed in Şanlıurfa, Turkey.
He added that it may be possible for them to provide all four years of education in Al-Bab in the next period.
Turkey on Jan. 20 launched Operation Olive Branch to remove YPG/PKK and Daesh terrorists from Syria's northwestern Afrin. On March 18, Turkish troops and Free Syrian Army liberated the Afrin district center.
Operation Euphrates Shield, which began in August in 2016 and ended in March 2017, also eliminated terrorists along the Syrian border.
