Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Thursday that Turkey would launch a military operation to clear Afrin of terrorists without hesitation in the case of any threat from the Syrian city.
Holding a press conference in the aftermath of his meeting with his Azerbaijani and Pakistani counterparts in Baku, Çavuşoğlu said that the issue was addressed in the National Security Council meeting on Sept. 28.
“We will enter and clear Afrin or elsewhere of terrorists in case of any threat against Turkey without hesitation, just like we entered the region during the Euphrates Shield Operation when Kilis and the region were threatened and cleared it of Daesh,” he said.
