Dozens of terrorists killed, hundreds of them detained and 18 PKK attacks averted in a week, according to Turkish ministry
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey said 66 Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists were killed in operations conducted between November 7 and 15.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, in operations conducted across Turkey, within last week, 45 terrorists in total, including 21 dead, one wounded, 14 alive and 9 surrendered, were neutralized. Also, 21 others were neutralized via operations with aircrafts like UAV and jet fighters.
Within the framework of security measures and operations, 18 terrorist activities, including 4 hand-made explosives, were averted.
In 401 operations carried out by gendarme special forces and commandos, 31 planted hand-made explosives were defused and 41 shelters used by terrorists were destroyed.
Over 350 people, found aiding and abetting the PKK, were detained in the operations, during which 1.5 tons of explosive-making materials and 82 weapons, 75 of which are heavy and long barreled, 9 anti-tank mines and 189 grenades were seized.
On the other hand, in anti-drug operations, to thwart the fundraising of terror, 94 kilograms of heroin, 922 kilograms of hashish, 19,371 opiate drugs, 3 kilograms of synthetic cannabinoid, 1,509 cannabis roots, 2,799,734 smuggled cigarettes and 424,210 liters of smuggled fuel were seized.
1064 people were detained in the anti-drug operations.
As part of struggle with irregular immigration, as 3,148 irregular immigrants, including 568 by Coast Guard Command, got caught, 17 smugglers out of 61 detained, have been arrested due to enabling irregular immigrants to go abroad illegally.
Also, 36 Daesh members out of 121 detained terrorists were arrested in operations carried out against foreign terrorists.
