A "strong" unity in the Turkic world will help bolster peace and prosperity worldwide, Türkiye's Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said on Friday.
"A strong Turkic union will become an influential power in the world, contributing significantly to global tranquilly, prosperity, and peace," Altun said in his message published in Egemen Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan's state newspaper, in a piece titled “Nowruz, the symbol of our fellowship.”
Stressing that Nowruz is an ancient festival that has been celebrated for centuries in the vast Turkic territory stretching from Central Asia to Anatolia, Altun said that it signals the beginning of spring, symbolizing "hope and fertility" and hence is known as the "new day."
"The Turkic world is experiencing the joy and excitement of reaching the Nowruz Festival during the blessed (Muslim holy) month of Ramadan this year. This brings us even more joy and delight. In the Turkic world, Nowruz symbolizes unity.
"This special day strengthens the feelings of solidarity, unity, and togetherness among Turkic peoples," he added.
The Turkic world's shared cultural value will not only promote social and cultural rapprochement in the eyes of the world, Altun said, but will also have special meaning for promoting and bringing Nowruz to new international dimensions.
Stressing the importance of preserving common values and reinforcing the ties between the Turkic world, he said: "Unity among the Turkic people is attainable through the preservation of shared cultural values, the expansion of economic cooperation, and bolstering political solidarity.
"It is important that we stand by one another, protect our common interests, and act together.”
Türkiye will work with all its strength to move forward arm in arm with the Turkic world, particularly the "friendly and brotherly" Republic of Kazakhstan, and to achieve in unity and solidarity the goal of introducing the Turkic Century within the framework of common values, Altun said.
Altun said he believes that Türkiye and Kazakhstan will take "firm steps towards a strong future with their deep-rooted bonds of fellowship, shared culture, hearts beating together, and noble peoples."
