Ambassador Anna Turenicova hosts reception in capital Ankara
Slovakia's Ambassador to Turkey Anna Turenicova on Tuesday hosted a reception to mark the anniversary of Slovakia’s National Day and Armed Forces Day.
"Since the time of the velvet revolution [in 1989], Slovakia has come a long way and become a respected member of the international community," Turenicova said.
She added Slovakia is cooperating very closely with Turkish partners in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which contributes to the friendly relations between the two countries.
The reception was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakci, Deputy Justice Minister Ugurhan Kus, as well as many representatives of diplomatic missions.
Addressing the reception, Kus said Slovakia is a "valued" partner of Turkey, adding that the two countries are enjoying perfect relations.
The bilateral trade volume between the countries is around $1.3 billion, he said.
Kus added that the cooperation between Ankara and Bratislava will continue in the future.
