Turkey strongly condemns Germany’s statements claiming that German citizens are not safe in Turkey, and German companies in Turkey have concerns, Presidential Spokesman İbrahim Kalın said.
On the new Turkish cabinet announced on Wednesday, Kalın said it could be considered as the cabinet of sustainability and change.
“PKK continues to be a nuisance for our country, and Western countries ignore it. Counterterrorism will be maintained intensively.
The West, unfortunately, continues to ignore PKK terrorism. We were bereaved after our young teacher was martyred. Although they preach about democracy, the West is disgracefully in a deep silence against PKK terrorism. Turkish people will not forget this. They are aware of who stands by Turkey where and when.
On the occasion of the first anniversary of July 15, purgation operations within our security forces continues. There are some speculative news that Turkey has an achilles’ heel in terms of security. We strongly condemn the statements claiming that German citizens traveling to Turkey are not safe, and German companies in Turkey have hesitations and concerns. This is out of question.
We have always had good relations with Germany, and so we would like to continue; however, this needs to be within the frame of respect and mutual interests. No one can attempt to bring Turkey into line by threatening us from Europe or any other place. This country has its own rules and laws. We have our own security concerns. It would be more correct and rational if the European regarded Turkey’s security as part of their own security.
