PKK/YPG car bomb attack injures at least 9 in Jarablus

At least 9 civilians, including one child, were injured on Saturday after a bomb-laden car exploded in the Syrian opposition-controlled town of Jarablus, Turkey’s National Defense Ministry said in a statement on Twitter.

"Bloodthirsty PKK/YPG terrorists conducted another car bomb attack in central Jarabulus (Op Euphrates Shield area). In the attack targeting innocent civilians minding their daily business, 9 people were wounded, including 1 child," the statement said.

Jarabulus was cleared of terrorists in 2016 as part of the Turkey-led Euphrates Shield operation.

Since 2016, Turkey’s Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch operations in northwestern Syria have liberated the region of YPG/PKK and Daesh terrorists, making it possible for Syrians who fled violence there to return home.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants. The YPG is the PKK's Syrian offshoot.
