The head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, has contracted the coronavirus, according to a statement from the resistance group on Tuesday.
Hamas said tests confirmed Sinwar was infected with the virus after "symptoms appeared on him."
The group said his health condition is "good" and he "practices his work as usual, according to safety procedures and medical isolation."
Gaza’s Ministry of Health said the number of infections in the enclave has exceeded 21,000, including 111 deaths.
