Israeli media say hackers affiliated with Iranian intelligence
Hackers exposed the identity of an Israeli nuclear scientist and a senior defense official, according to Israeli media on Monday.
Israeli daily Haaretz said the hackers, allegedly affiliated with the Iranian intelligence service, leaked the personal data of a nuclear scientist at the Soreq Nuclear Research Center.
The newspaper said some 30 photos of the Soreq facility were released by the hackers after being taken from the hacked phone and email of the Israeli nuclear scientist.
The hackers also published a screenshot of a list of Israeli nuclear scientists working on the facility's "particle accelerator" project.
The private photos and documents of a former director general of the Defense Ministry were also released by the hackers after breaching his account, the daily said.
There was no immediate Israeli comment on the report.
Last month, Israeli police said they had arrested seven Israeli citizens accused of gathering information on Israel's military bases and energy infrastructure for Iranian intelligence.
