Google has finally deleted a so-called ‘Kurdistan’ map that includes Turkey’s territory after it was strongly criticized across the country
Google has removed a scandalous map of so-called “Kurdistan” from “My Maps” after Turkish authorities made requests to the tech giant.
The so-called map violated Turkish borders by including southeastern provinces of Turkish territory, as well as Syria, Iraq and Iran in the map of so-called “Kurdistan.”
It appears to be created by a manipulative user on Google, not the company itself.
“This map is no longer available due to a violation of our Terms of Service and/or policies,” reads the message that pops up when “Kurdistan” is searched for on the service.
Google’s My Maps is a service that enables users to create custom maps with their own notes and comments.
