European stock exchanges closed mixed on Thursday but they posted around 6.8% gains for the first quarter of this year.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose just 0.92 point, or 0.18%, to finish mostly flat at 512.67.
France's CAC 40 added only one point, or 0.01%, to close the day also flat at 8,205.
The UK's FTSE 100 was the best daily performer by adding 20 points, or 0.26%, to end the session at 7,952.
Germany's DAX 30, meanwhile, increased 15 points, or 0.08%, to close at 18,492.
Italy's FTSE MIB, on the other hand, lost nine points, or 0.03%, to finish at 34,750.
Spain's IBEX 35 was the worst performer of the day, falling 36 points, or 0.33%, to end the week at 11,074.
Exchanges will be closed for Good Friday and Easter Monday.
