Board chairman of Turkish Airlines, Hamdi Topçu, has announced his resignation on Monday, April 6, for being the deputy candidate nominee for the June 7 parliamentary elections.
Turkish Airlines (THY) Chairman Hamdi Topçu, will reportedly run as member of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and is expected to run for deputy positions.
Meanwhile, dozens of prominent bureaucrats and academics have also resigned from their posts in hopes of becoming deputy candidate nominees for the parliamentary elections.
Turkish Airlines is Turkey's flagship airline, which has has gained wide acclaim with many awards including "Europe's Best Airline Company" for the last four years.
