More than a thousand are dismissed from Turkey's Gendarmerie General Command in the investigation against coupist FETÖ terrorist organization
As many as 1,218 personnel were dismissed from Gendarmerie General Command in the probe against the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) which is responsible for the coup bid of July 15 that targeted the Turkish government and the democratic system of Turkey.
The dismissed personnel included 419 military officers, 604 non-commissioned officers, 158 specialist gendarmerie sergeants, 28 expert officers and nine officers.
On July 15, as many as 241 people, including members of the security forces and civilians, were martyred in Istanbul and Ankara and nearly 2,000 others were wounded, as they protested against the coup bid.
Turkey accuses the Fetullah Gülen-led FETÖ terrorist organization of attempting the coup.
