Arrest warrants have been issued for 14 suspects detained in connection to the Istanbul nightclub attack on New Year's Eve

Ten foreign nationals, allegedly members of the Daesh terror organization, were taken into custody on Tuesday in an anti-terror operation in Izmir, Turkey, in connection with the terrorist attack in Istanbul on New Year's Eve.

Intelligence and anti-terrorism teams conducted special operations in Izmir's Bornova and Buca districts with the support of police forces.

The 10 foreign nationals were taken to a courthouse after passing health checks.

Daesh claimed responsibility for the New Year's Eve attack that killed at least 39 people, including a police officer. The gunman, Abdulkadir Masharipov, opened fire on New Year's Eve revelers, wounding 69 other people.

Security forces analyzed over 100,000 hours of footage in their attempts to capture the gunman responsible for the attack. This lead to the discovery of multiple terror cells. Operations targeting the remaining terror cells are underway.
