Australia has begun evacuating its citizens from virus-hit China to a remote island, local media reported on Monday.
The coronavirus (2019-nCoV) has so far claimed 362 lives since its outbreak last December. Over 17,200 others have been infected by the epidemic believed to have been transmitted to humans from animals, particularly bats. Besides China, the virus has spread to more than 24 countries,.
The U.S., Japan, South Korea, India, France, Germany, Indonesia and Turkey, among other countries, have evacuated their citizens from Wuhan.
Meanwhile, Pakistanis stranded in China have also started arriving in the country as their government started flight operations to the virus-hit country. At least 143 passengers, including students, arrived in the capital Islamabad earlier in the day.
While travelers from China are being screened for the virus at airports worldwide, several airlines have also suspended flights to Wuhan.
Since its outbreak, China has put many cities -- including Wuhan -- under lockdown in a bid to contain the virus. It has built a 1,000-bed hospital in record 10 days to treat those affected.
Meanwhile, according to India's Health Ministry, a third positive case of the virus was reported in the southern province of Kerala.The patient, who has been put in an isolated ward, it said, remains stable. He had recently visited Wuhan.
Authorities in Myanmar said that the Chinese visitor, who was hospitalized after suspected of having been infected by the coronavirus upon arrival at a Myanmar airport, was discharged today.However, the authorities have reported at least three more such suspected cases.
