Two Turkish soldiers were wounded by an improvised explosive device Wednesday within the scope of "Operation Claw" that was launched against Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists in Northern Iraq.
Turkey launched an aerial and land operation against PKK terrorists in Northern Iraq's Hakurk region, according to a statement by the Defense Ministry on Tuesday.
The military offensive initiated aims to neutralize terrorists in the area and destroy their caves and shelters, the ministry said.
Turkey neutralized six Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists, according to a National Defense Ministry statement on Wednesday.
"The total number of terrorists neutralized since the launch of the operation is now 15."
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including many women and children.
