Turkish military conducts airstrike in Hakurk region in northern Iraq on Friday
Three PKK terrorists were “neutralized” in an airstrike in northern Iraq, according to the Turkish army on Saturday.
Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in statements to imply the terrorists in question either surrendered, were killed or captured.
In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said the operation was conducted in the Hakurk region on Friday.
The terrorists were plotting attacks on Turkish military bases, the statement added.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women and children.
