Thirteen PKK terrorists were killed in northern Iraq's Avasin-Basyan regions in an airstrike early Sunday while they were preparing to launch an armed attack, a source, speaking on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said.
The strike also destroyed seven ammunition depots belonging to the terrorist organization PKK, it added.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of around 1,200 people including women and children.
