FETÖ wields influence in the politics and economy of Kyrgyzstan by gaining access through companies in the education, trade and media sectors, and NGOs
The Fetullah Terrorist Organization/Parallel State Structure (FETÖ/PDY) have been gaining power day by day in Kyrgyzstan with its affiliated education, trade and media companies along with the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) where the terrorist organization obtains key contacts who have influence in the country's politics.
The FETÖ is known to have 23 schools across Kyrgyzstan, including primary schools, high schools and universities, such as International Atatürk-Alatoo University, Bishkek Chingiz Aitmatov High School, Ayçürök Kyrgyz Turkish High School for Girls and Tokmok High School, where the richest Kyrgyz families' and ministers' children receive education.
A significant education institution linked with FETÖ/PDY is the Sebat Educational Institution, which is headed by Orhan Inandi, who is known to be a key FETÖ figure.
Also, Turkish Yeni Şafak daily newspaper discovered that Professor Osman Gökalp has been illegally fulfilling his rectorship duty at the International Atatürk-Alatoo University for three years after his tenure at Dicle University.
Along with the schools, numerous student dormitories are actively bringing members to the organization by inviting them to the talks and taking the students on trip.
The students are trapped at the first moment they arrive to the country by the FETÖ members at the airport, who plan to take the students to the FETÖ dorms.
The FETÖ members go to great lengths to exploit the students, and even ask them to donate their organs for the FETÖ-linked businessman during the conversations, coercing the students to participate and pay them money for the organs they donate.
FETÖ also protects the pro- Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) students in these dorms.
Each FETÖ member in Kyrgyzstan also holds a special ID card, which enables them to muddle through a situation in which the police need to intervene.
Also, non-governmental organizations, particularly the Kyrgyz-Turkish Businessmen Association, are playing a role in supporting the FETÖ activities in the country.
The Kyrgyz-Turkish Businessmen Association is being headed by FETÖ-member Şevki Sarılar, who is also the president of the Demir Kyrgyz International Bank, which is the only international bank of Kyrgyzstan.
With Sarılar's presence as an important figure of the association, the companies can only be engaged in sectors through FETÖ's hand.
The FETÖ terrorist organization is operating the largest shopping malls and all the hotels, in which all the business organizations' meetings are being conducted.
Also, FETÖ has members in Kyrgyzstan's Turkish embassy; therefore the president of the Sebat Educational Institution Inandi was also discovered riding in embassy vehicles belonging to the Turkish state in Kyrgyzstan.
FETÖ also influences the media. 'Zaman newspaper' is known to be a propaganda tool of the terrorist group.
Previously, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said Ankara warned Krygyzstan against any possible coup bid, as Turkey witnessed the terrorist group's involvement, which was headed by Fetullah Gülen, the plotter of the foiled July 15 coup in Turkey.
