A Swedish priest's Facebook post praising Muslims went viral on social media gathering 19,000 reactions and 4,326 shares, local media said on Thursday.
According to Swedish daily Aftonbladet, Stefan Lindquist, district chairman of the Swedish Christian Church in Harnosand town, called Muslims "kind-hearted".
“[…] what if we Swedes would lift our eyes and see how it really is. I did it and discovered what amazing Muslim friends I have,” Lindquist said in his post.
"I wanted to show the Muslim majority’s love and mercy," he said, speaking to the newspaper after his post went viral on Facebook.
"I think there is an unnecessary fear and anxiety for Muslims."
