Russian President Vladimir Putin's aide for military and technical cooperation Vladimir Kojin said that Russia will deliver the S-400 missile defense system to Turkey toward the end of 2019.
In December last year, Turkey and Russia signed an accord for Moscow to supply Ankara with S-400 surface-to-air missile batteries, finalizing a deal set to deepen military ties between NATO member Turkey and the Kremlin.
Last week, Turkish Undersecretary for Defense Industries Ismail Demir wrote on Twitter that "The delivery of Russian S-400 air defense missile systems to Turkey has been pulled forward and will begin in July 2019.”
