While a critical atmosphere of life and death hangs over the opposition-held enclave of Aleppo, Assad's supporters, who were brought from Damascus, celebrated Assad's victory and took selfies in front of the bloody ruins of Aleppo, controlled by Assad's regime forces.
The pictures released by Reuters show that pro-Assad people, visiting razed historical sites such as the Citadel of Aleppo and Umayyad Mosque like museum-visitors, are smiling while taking photos without feeling uncomfortable in a place which has become a graveyard to numerous people.
The old city of Aleppo, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986, has been reduced to only ruins due to intense airstrikes and shelling conducted by the regime and its allies.
