Opposition candidate Lee Jae-myung maintains more than a 10% lead over his main rival ahead of South Korea's June 3 snap presidential election, a poll showed Wednesday.

The Democratic Party (DP) candidate led the poll with 49.2%, according to a Realmeter survey, Yonhap News Agency reported.

Former Labor Minister Kim Moon-soo of the ruling People Power Party (PPP) trailed Lee with 36.8%.

Lee Jun-seok of the New Reform Party came in third with 10.3%.

The latest survey came ahead of a two-day early voting period that will begin Thursday.

South Korea is set to hold the presidential election after President Yoon Suk Yeol was removed from office on April 4 over his botched martial law bid in December.
