A few hundred Muslims residing in the Washington area attended Friday prayers outside the White House in protest of the declaration by U.S. President Donald Trump that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
"We say to this president that thrives on chaos, your declaration is as meaningless as the hollow criticism that you have received from Arab leaders. This isn't about the ultimate deal; this is about your ultimate ego," said Imam Omar Suleiman, who preaches at a mosque near Dallas.
Trump was at the White House at the time but it is unlikely he caught a glimpse of the activity across the street in Lafayette Park.
