A magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit the southwestern Romanian city of Craiova on Tuesday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 3.16 p.m. local time (1316GMT), was located 40 kilometers (about 25 miles) beneath the surface and 73 km from the city of Drobeta-Turnu Severin, reported the center.
It was felt in surrounding cities and countries, including Serbia. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
