There’s nothing like a little “Hocus Pocus” to get your blood boiling. No, we’re not referring to the hit 1993 movie starring Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker but a real-life story that will leave your mouths hanging wide open.
Famous for its delicious iskender kebab, 45-year-old Adem Karasaç has put the country’s northwestern Bursa province on the world’s map for a completely different reason: magic.
The mentally-ill man allegedly shot his 57-year-old friend, Selahattin İskender, with a pump rifle for wanting to ruin his happiness by putting an enchantment on him, according to a report by Doğan News Agency.
Karasaç showed up at Iskender’s house on Monday and shot his frenemy several times in the leg, before bolting from the scene of the crime.
Neighbors and witnesses contacted the police and ambulances, while Iskender was taken to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he had lost too much blood and succumbed to his wounds.
Meanwhile, the Turkish police launched a search for the fugitive and caught him shortly after.
“Selahattin had problems with me. He cast a spell on me so that I would become unhappy. So, I shot him,” Karasaç reportedly told police in his first statement.
The investigation into the killing of Selahattin İskender is ongoing.
