Palestinian students gather in Ramallah to protest Israeli attacks
Israeli army injured six Palestinians during a solidarity march in West Bank on Saturday.
A group of students from Birzeit University in Ramallah, an occupied West Bank city, convened for a demonstration protesting the Israeli attacks.
Israeli troops used tear gas and plastic bullets to disperse Palestinian students, while the students threw stones at the soldiers in response.
The plastic bullets wounded five Palestinians, and one was injured with a live bullet. Dozens were affected by tear gas during the intervention of Israeli soldiers.
The situation escalated in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday after the killing of Baha Abu al-Atta, the commander of resistance group Islamic Jihad, in an airstrike.
Israeli warplanes also launched an airstrike targeting Islamic Jihad member Akram al-Ajouri in the Syrian capital Damascus.
Two people, including al-Ajouri's son, were killed and 10 others injured, but the Islamic Jihad leader emerged unhurt.
