India, Pakistan accuse each other of ceasefire violations along Kashmir border

Pakistan and India on Monday accused each other of violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in disputed Jammu and Kashmir amid heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

It was the 11th night of cross-border fire since renewed tensions between the two countries after the April 22 attack at Pahalgam tourist resort in Indian-administered Kashmir that left 26 people dead.

Pakistan claimed that Indian troops resorted to "unprovoked" firing on multiple Pakistani military posts along the LoC – a de facto border that divides the disputed territory into two between the nuclear-armed neighbors – and the Pakistan army gave a “befitting response,” state-run Radio Pakistan reported.

However, the Indian army, in a statement, accused Pakistan of opening fire with small arms across the LoC and said they responded "promptly and proportionately."

Separately, Pakistan on Monday conducted a “successful training launch” of a Fatah series surface-to-surface missile with a range of 120 kilometers (74.5 miles), the military said.

The launch was aimed at “ensuring the operational readiness of troops and validating key technical parameters,” including the missile's advanced navigation system and enhanced accuracy, a Pakistan military statement said.

This was the second missile test in the last three days. On Saturday, Pakistan said it conducted a “successful training launch” of a surface-to-surface missile with a range of 450 kilometers (279.6 miles).
