Despite recent ceasefire planning for evacuating people, the regime and Shiite militias maintain their attacks without slowing down, causing grave humanitarian plight

Although Russia announced a ceasefire so that civilians could be evacuated from Aleppo, the Assad regime is currently conducting tough assaults on 10 districts of the eastern section of the city.

The western Merce, al-Zibdiye, Sheik Said, Yusuf, Sayf al-Dawla, Firdevs, Bustan al-Qasr, Sukkari and al-Maadi districts of east Aleppo are being hit from both the air and the ground under the regime's strict blockade.

“The regime is lying to the world, they are still attacking us in a number of ways," said Yousuf Ibrahim, a spokesperson to the Nurreddin Zangi opposition group.

'Even only one civilian could not be evacuated'

Abu Subhi Hayani, a commander of the Sultan Murad Brigade, said, “Assad is a liar. Even only one civilian could not be evacuated over the past 6 days. But before then, they were able to leave the city due to the regime and its allies' intensified bombardment. Lots of people were killed or wounded while fleeing. I myself carried two injured civilians. Regime soldiers took them to their intelligence camp."

Wazir Hamza Abu Othman, a Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander said, “The bombing was not stopped. Regime and Shiite Militias are still attacking. Fierce clashes are being reported in Sheik Said and Sayf al-Dawla. What we need is a safe corridor to take civilians and wounded people to safe places. Some media reports about the evacuation of 8,000 civilians are false. Only a couple of hundred moved out. But they were either forcefully recruited or arrested by the regime."

Meanwhile, 25 civilians, attempting to reach safe districts, were killed in an attack, targeting them directly.

Ten other bodies, trapped under rubble following an airstrike, were unearthed in the Cellum district which the regime and its allies flattened.

The number of civilian casualties have thus escalated to over 950 since the regimes' heightened attacks began on Nov. 15.

Hundreds of men are missing

The UN's statement about the humanitarian situation in the city, reads that they are yet to receive any news regarding the hundreds of men who moved to areas under the regimes' oversight.

Those men, between ages 30 and 50, who left the opposition-held areas, are missing, said Rupert Colville, the Spokesman for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

“We have profound concerns over the abject jail conditions, torture and missing claims," he added.
