Daihachi Ohamamaru boat carrying 20 people capsized east of Kashima port in Ibaraki province of Japan, while another boat capsized in southern Australia
At least four people were killed and three others remained missing in two separate boat accidents on Monday in Australia and Japan.
Two men were killed and a woman was hospitalized after a boat capsized in southern Australia, police said.
Police found the bodies of the two deceased men, aged 82 and 69, and an unresponsive woman at Beachport in South Australia state, according to a police statement.
The 59-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital, but her situation remains stable, said the statement.
All three victims are from Millicent town, 30 kilometers (18 miles) from Beachport, it added.
“Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing with the assistance of the Water Operations Unit,” said the police.
Separately, two people were found dead and three others remain missing after a fishing boat capsized off eastern Japan in a pre-dawn accident.
Japan Coast Guard officials said Daihachi Ohamamaru boat capsized about 30 kilometers (18 miles) east of Kashima port in the Ibaraki province, according to NHK News.
The boat carried around 20 people, including five Indonesian and 15 Japanese citizens.
The deceased were identified as Japanese, while 15 others have been rescued.
