Hundreds of orphans receive meals, gifts as part of Ramadan initiatives in Damascus, Accra
Azerbaijan and Türkiye organized separate iftar events for orphans in Syria and Ghana on Tuesday as part of their humanitarian outreach during Ramadan.
In Damascus, Azerbaijan's embassy launched a three-day program to provide meals for 1,000 orphans, beginning with a gathering for 500 children that included poetry recitations and other performances.
The initiative marks the embassy's renewed activity in Syria after years of closure.
In Ghana's capital Accra, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and the Ghana Hudaai Foundation held an iftar at the Ghana National Mosque for 1,300 orphan children.
The event featured gift distributions and was attended by Turkish officials, project partners, and local representatives.
Both initiatives underscore efforts to foster solidarity and support vulnerable communities during Ramadan.
